What is “Follow the Journey” ? …… At the moment we are in the process of recording our next album “My Servant, The King”. We are writing a web journal of our progress, along with various other things that are happening like the music we are listening to or occasional youtube clips that we find amusing etc. We are calling this “Follow the Journey” and you can “Follow The Journey” in a variety of ways, eg:

So we took a bit of detour this week and left the guitar alone for a bit. We had basically got it done but there’s still some working out. Anyway on Sunday we did Jan’s vocals, so they’re more or less done now and there’s not much more to do before we mix it. We should have a release date in a week or 2.

Been working on the guitars for ‘Burning Sun’ over the last couple of weeks. At this stage we basically have the main guitar, but we need a cool hook for the chorus and it’s eluding us at the moment ….. but not for long  !!

We were listening to the new Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers album yesterday, “Mojo” … a modern classic for sure. So then last night we put down the bass to our new song. It’s coming together – definitely the best one so far.

Have all the loops done now – we still have to do the guitar, bass and vocals. We’ll do all those next week ….. no    !! just wishful thinking … but another 5 or 6 weeks we’ll probably have it out.

We are doing a bit of recording tonight – havent been able to for a few weeks.

We were working on “Burning Sun” again last night. We did 2 drum loops based on playing a djembe with brushes and under-laying it with some sequenced samples. Sounds good so far we think…. still have another 2 loops to do though. The song has ventured far from ‘alt country’ at this stage and is veering towards art pop !!

Trying out some loops on burning sun. We have 2 possible styles that this one might end up as  – one being quick and dancy – the other is sort of alt country. Think it’s gonna end up being quick so thats what the loops are for.

Worked on our next song “Burning Sun” last night. We ended up changing it quite a bit. It stared out as quirky alternative country and ended up getting some fast beats behind it, which we weren’t really expecting, but that’s what happened and we’re liking the way it sounds so far.
