After having spent until the wee hours of last night adding the finishing touches to our new single “Shepherd King” we’ve finally pushed it out of the studio nest into the world for the first time! We’re really glad to get this one out there as it seemed to take a lot of time and effort and we wondered at times would we ever get there but we think the effort has paid off and we’re really happy with the final sound, we hope you are too! It’s free for download until June on our music page oneweekofdays.com/music so go get it!

Doing the acoustic album is really working for us!. We have the songs picked for the album so we’re ready to go and we’ve decided again to do a series of pre releases to give people a taste of what the songs are like before we release the full album.

We had a great gig in Portlaoise last weekend; the audience was so receptive, thanks guys, and thanks especially to James and Rachel.
Well, after really enjoying ourselves doing the acoustic gig; coupled also with enjoying the new songs that we did for the gig ( these weren’t going to end up on our album ) …… we’re about to make a fairly big change to our plans. We ……… » click here to continue reading "Acoustic Album"

No, we haven’t left the country or disbanded!! Work continues on the album … SLOWLY but surely! Our good friends James and Rachel, the pastors of Portlaoise Family Worship Centre have asked us to play at the opening of their new church building in June. It’s going to be an accoustic gig, just the two of us, and we’re really looking forward to it.

We’re working on Jan’s song “Just to see Sweetheart” at the moment, which will be our second release. Work has been slow but steady. We’ve had a couple of computer issues but that’s par for the course. Luckily we haven’t lost anything.

Full of romantic notions, magic potions not true not true
Or is the truth in your eyes hidden amongst more cloak and dagger looks
Why would the wisdom Ive acquired fall like a fool at your feet in defeat’

“Bad History” is FREE to download for the first 100 lucky downloaders…Go get it!!
We released it last last night at DV8, we had a great gig, thanks Damien and Mark for playing bass and drums with us and for all the hard work rehearsing!

We’ve decided to do a pre release in the next few months, it’s a great track called “Bad History” … it’s a real rock based song, heavier than anything we’ve done previously. The guitar is sounding particularly good … we are hoping to get the release to coincide with the DV8 gig we’re doing in July.

Despite the lack of sleep at the moment ( our baby arrived last month ! ) we are doing great and continuing recording when we can and loving it !

Delighted to say the album has begun in earnest. We’ve finished demoing and actually started recording. It’s been pretty hard to juggle music with all the other changes going on around us but we are determined not to be deterred! We will get as much done as possible before baby arrives!

Well a lot has happened over the past few months !!! Life is never boring is it? First of all there is a 3rd little Murphy on the way and to top that off Bob has also just started his own company – a freelance webdesign company! … the album is still on the way though!

Having fun demoing tracks for new album, writing lots of new material too. The songs are sounding great. Nice to be back recording again.

Ok so we thought it would take 3 months ….. but here we are 6 months later finally announcing that our studio is finished and ready for recording. It turned out to be a lot more work than we had bargained for …. and Bob is now a “taping and jointing” expert …. but we now have our very own recording studio and it’s lookin good. For the technical types it’s based on ‘Cubase’ and uses MOTU converters and from a sound conditioning point of view it has plenty of bass traps and sounds great …… we will begin demoing the album next!
